Maryam Samadi

Maryam Samadi was born in Ghotor, Khoy in 1988. She lives in Urmia now. She started her activities as an art student in directing field in Iranian youth reporters club in 2009. And in 2011, she directed her first short movie tha produced by Cultural Field. The movie name was Blue Kite. She joined to Iranian Youth Cinema Society in 2012. After graduating from Iranian Youth Cinema Society, she started her career professionally and continued her education in directing in university of Applied science and technology. Then she directed The Summer Of The Swans which received varous accolade, it could shine in international and domestic film festivals, and received some awards also. She directed Karnika, short movie with co-producing of Iranian youth cinema society and herself. In 2023, she made the short film "Salt Sellers" as a director and writer, a joint production of Iran and Belgium. And also in 2023, she made the short film "A house near the sun" as a co-writer and director with Roni Schamlian. This movie is a joint production of Iran and Germany.

In the age of 22, she got the idea to talk through pictures visually instead words. During her career period as assistant director programmer and scriptwriter consulting, scene designer, attended in various project including short and long movies.
