We are proud to announce that LandStone, directed by Faraz Fadaian and produced by Farshad Fadaian, Elaheh Nobakht, and Saeed Sheidi, has been officially selected for the Hot Docs Festival (April 23 – May 3, 2026), one of the world’s leading documentary film festivals.
The film will have its World Premiere in the International Spectrum Competition, a section dedicated to bold and distinctive voices in contemporary documentary cinema.
A co-production between Iran and Switzerland, LandStone is a poetic and visually striking portrait of a vanishing way of life. Shot in evocative black and white, the film follows a man living in rural Iran who moves between a hand-hewn cave and his traditional home, carrying out daily rituals shaped by nature and time. As modernity gradually encroaches, the film becomes a quiet meditation on aging, mortality, and the fragile persistence of a disappearing nomadic existence.
With its immersive atmosphere and patient observation, LandStone invites audiences to experience a world where time flows differently—unhurried, cyclical, and deeply connected to the land.
